An average Indian has no code of conduct. No code of conduct at home. No code of conduct on the roads while driving down his vehicle, no code of conduct in offices and no code of conduct in public places. This is the reason for our overall cultural degradation.
Adherence to a good code of conduct at any place begins with the understanding the word ‘Freedom’. Freedom means ‘the power to act or speak or think without externally imposed restraints’. Not just the words they mean, but one must understand the spirit behind these words. The true spirit begins with an understanding that ‘my freedom ends where the others’ begins. And none has unlimited freedom.
Unfortunately many in our country believe that they have an unlimited freedom. Freedom to encroach upon the others’. This is the beginning of our cultural degradation.
Can we have a clear code of conduct at every place we present ourselves? An earnest beginning at any level will spread slowly and bring about a cultural revolution. We need it now and we deserve it too!
