350 Army veterans demand parity in pension. They all have assembled at Delhi and are giving back their medals to the President. They express their dismay at the parity in their pension scheme for the same levels. They demand equal pension for all men and women retiring on the same rank. This is one aspect.
But one goes into the details, it will be clear that an Army man who puts his life at stake, sacrifices his family life for several years, faces regular transfers etc..etc., is not treated with dignity and respect.
I doubt, whether our President, Ms.Pratibha Patil, who was unknown to most citizens of this country before she became the head of our country, can really understand the sensitivities of the issue, intervene and try to place things in order.
In our country we only pamper politicians and beuracrats. We truly have no respect for the people who protect the sovernighty and integrity of our motherland.
